Democrats Dominate Top Midterm Fundraising as Susie Lee Leads Nevada

Candidates for the 2026 midterm elections have raised roughly $2.66 billion for federal House and Senate races through September 2026, according to Federal Election Commission data. House candidates account for $1.81 billion of that total, while Senate candidates have raised $854 million.

Nine of the 10 candidates who have raised the most money so far are Democrats. Georgia Sen. Jon Ossoff leads the nation with $77.3 million, followed by Texas Democrat James Talarico at $68.6 million and Ohio Democrat Sherrod Brown at $38.6 million. House Speaker Mike Johnson of Louisiana is the only Republican in the top 10, ranking ninth with nearly $21 million.

Across all candidates, Democrats have raised about $1.5 billion, compared with $1.1 billion for Republicans.

In Nevada, which has no U.S. Senate race this cycle, all federal fundraising is concentrated in House contests. Rep. Susie Lee, the Democratic incumbent in the 3rd District, leads the state with $4.4 million raised through June 2026. That edges Republican challenger Marty O’Donnell’s $4.1 million. Lee also holds the most cash on hand among Nevada’s congressional nominees at $3.7 million.

Nevada’s 3rd District has drawn the most money of any House race in the state, with candidates there raising a combined roughly $11 million. Lee’s total places her well ahead of candidates in the 1st, 2nd, and 4th districts.
