Nevada hits record employment as unemployment falls to 4.7%

Nevada added 1,300 more jobs in September, lifting seasonally adjusted nonfarm employment to a record 1,620,200. The unemployment rate fell for the fifth straight month to 4.7%, the lowest since February 2020.

The gain follows stronger summer growth, including 4,400 jobs in August and roughly 4,000 in July. Over the past year, Nevada has added 25,300 jobs. Year-over-year growth was driven by gains in Las Vegas and Reno, concentrated in health care, business services, and construction.

“My administration is setting the standard for economic growth and opportunity, with more Nevadans working than ever before and unemployment continuing to fall,” said Governor Lombardo (R).
